Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Jenn and I am an “amateur gourmand” from Seattle, WA. I am passionate about everything and anything related to the food world so you can expect to find a wide variety of topics and information in this blog – recipes, cooking tips, local events, latest food news, restaurant reviews…you name it.
As a military brat, I had the unique privilege of growing up overseas and becoming immersed in different cultures and cuisines — thus my love and appreciation for food started at an early age. As a kid, while my friends were playing with Barbie dolls and stuffed animals, I was glued to my AMAZING Fisher-Price kitchen, whipping up all kinds of meals from Play-doh. I have since upgraded to a real grown-up kitchen (albeit not much bigger than the faux one 
) and have learned to make meals from real, edible ingredients.
I have been in the public relations (PR) field for 5 years so the whole talking and writing bit comes pretty naturally to me. Amateur Gourmand is a creative outlet to share my passion for food + wine and engage with other great foodies (and non-foodies). I look forward to sharing many exciting experiences with you all!
